Recently a family member came in contact with a bat. We had so many questions and concerns. They could not have been more helpful, nice and accommodating. Provided our family with the support we needed. Thank you DOH!

Health inspector's exact words " I will make sure that you never get a permit for any event in this county". We have been attending farmers markets and food events in NYS, Massachusetts, New Jersey..... for years. In all states and counties the health inspector's job was to help us and guide us and correct us if we unintentionally did something wrong. Not the health inspector of Rockland County Department of Health.

Nothing but good things to say about RCHD. The Healthy Neighborhoods Program is a great idea. Having people check our smoke and carbon monoxide detectors was so helpful, especially because our CM detector needed to be moved to a better spot, and we needed another smoke detector, which the tech installed. So thank you for that. We were already impressed with RCHD’s efficiency during COVID and got our vaccinations there. Keep up the good work.

To the Esteemed Officials of the Department of Health, I write as a concerned resident to urgently draw your attention to the growing public health risks within Spring Valley, particularly relating to unsanitary conditions and widespread mouse infestation throughout the community. It has become increasingly alarming that some parts of Spring Valley is not clean and appears to be seriously infested with mice, especially in and around areas where food vendors operate. My primary concern is directed at the numerous food stores and fast-food vendors who continue to operate despite visible rodent activity in their surroundings and, in some cases, within their establishments. As you are well aware, rodents pose dangerous health hazards. Any food that comes into contact with mice or their droppings becomes unsafe for human consumption, exposing the public to foodborne illnesses, contamination, and other preventable health issues. In light of the seriousness of these conditions, I respectfully request that the Department of Health: Conduct an immediate investigation into the sanitation conditions within Spring Valley. Inspect all food vendors, food stores, and fast-food outlets operating in the area. Enforce strict compliance with health, hygiene, and food safety regulations. Implement penalties, corrective measures, or closures for establishments that fail to meet these standards. Provide guidance to business owners on proper rodent control and sanitation practices. Spring Valley’s residents deserve a clean, safe community, free from rodent infestation and protected from the risks associated with contaminated food. Addressing this issue promptly will help prevent illness, restore confidence in local food vendors, and uphold the health standards expected within our community. Thank you for your attention to this urgent matter and for your anticipated action. Respectfully submitted.
