My experience with this Circuit Clerk’s office was extremely frustrating and disappointing. Before mailing my documents, I called the office specifically to ask for all rules, regulations, and requirements regarding the paperwork. At no point was I told that the documents had to be printed on standard letter-size paper instead of legal-size paper. Because that requirement was not clearly communicated, I spent around $40 shipping important legal documents to their office, only for them to send the paperwork back due to the paper size. They did not call me first, attempt to clarify the issue, or try to help fix the problem before returning everything. This was a completely avoidable waste of time, money, and effort. The most concerning part is the lack of clear guidance from an office that handles legal paperwork. When members of the public call ahead to confirm filing requirements, they should be given accurate and complete information. Instead, I was left to deal with the consequences of an undisclosed rule after I had already paid to mail the documents. It was also troubling that staff did not seem familiar with basic paper terminology, such as “letter-size” paper, while handling legal paperwork. That shows a lack of attention to detail and creates unnecessary barriers for people trying to navigate the court system correctly. This office does not appear to work well with advocates or members of the public who are trying to help others through complicated legal processes. Public offices should provide clear guidance, communicate problems before creating more delays, and help prevent avoidable mistakes, not run people in circles until they are exhausted. I hope this office improves its communication, professionalism, and willingness to assist the public. This is as of June 2026.
