Waked in no one was waiting. Handed my paperwork application and ID and my payment. She told me it would take about 5 minutes. She gave me my paperwork and Birth Certificate and I was on my way. Painless experience. Staff was very nice and friendly.

Totally useless. Went 30 minutes before closing to get a birth certificate copy and they said, oh we are about to close, we can make an appointment for you next week. Huh? Print out a birth certificate before you close then. Every other review says it was that simple. These people are why government should be responsible for as little as possible. No accountability, no care.

My visit to the health department for removal of my IUD was nothing short of violating and traumatizing. The nurse of 50 years who performed my procedure does not understand basic communication and consent. Not once did she communicate her intent to touch me or enter me before, during or after. I was provided with no pain management, of course. I was in so much agony during the entire thing that I was crying and loudly vocalizing how much it hurt. The IUD literally had to be ripped from my body and once she finally removed it, said it was probably embedded in my cervical canal. This is not a procedure that should be performed with no analgesic, numbing or sedative. In both physical and mental shock after the torture of my cervix being mutilated, she went to wipe me down, and again gave no warning of her intent to touch me. She completely disregarding my boundaries and rights to consent every step of the way. That woman needs updated training or to retire. No one should be treated so thoughtlessly is such a vulerable position. Pelvic exams can be triggering for many people in the first place and for someone to be so cold in the healthCARE field is appalling. The only upside to this horrifying experience is that I don't have to pay for it monetarily, though I did pay physically and mentally. I was so grateful to find a low-cost resource, but this was not worth it. This is the sad and true representation of being an uninsured woman in america because this is not an uncommon experience to have. Go somewhere else if you can.

I believe Mr. A.M., the inspector for the Larimer County Health Department, needs further professional training. He should have taken action when I reported a restaurant all kitchen employee for drinking alcohol while cooking in the kitchen. However, he replied that it was beyond his jurisdiction. But after consulting with inspectors in other counties, I received completely different answers. In Colorado, cooks drinking alcohol on the job is generally a violation of health, safety, and labor standards. While Colorado does not have explicit laws prohibiting drinking in all situations, both Larimer County and Colorado have strict regulations regarding food safety, employee intoxication, and workplace alcohol permits.

I have been tattooing professionally in this town for ten years and have never seen a health inspector walk through our doors. It's only a matter of time until someone gets a disease or life threatening infection and it will be because the health department is non existent or refuses to inspect tattoo shops. It's embarrassing. The blatant health violations I have seen would make most people think twice about getting tattooed in this county. Please do your job.
