Customer service is aweful. They are no help at all. I guess you have to be a local if you need assistance. That is the kind of service you get from a small town.

I had to do land record research on the computer for a few days. The ladies were very accommodating and there for any help I may have needed. They were very helpful and thorough to all of the other patrons that came in and had a great work dynamic with each other.

They make it difficult to order a birth certificate directly by mail, all but forcing you to go pay Vital Check to order online for an extra $7 fee. I thot it would just be easier, so I went and ordered from Vital Check, paid the fee, and then AFTER THEY TOOK MY MONEY, I found that Lassen County requires me to send a written form anyway, thus canceling the convenience of online ordering. So I could have just sent the required form in with a check and saved the wasted $7, but on my phone I could not locate a link to the pdf of the required form. AFTER I went to Vital Check, I finally found, on my home computer, the link to the document they require but it was on ANOTHER page of the Lassen County Recorder's site. Thanks for the con job. Hope you get good kickbacks from Vital Check for making it seem that they are the only way to order a birth certificate. Seems a little unethical to me.

Writing this immediately as this was a shockingly unprofessional experience. Unless you NEED to use services here for some reason DO NOT even bother calling because it is quite apparent that they do not care. Addie was very kind, but that is the only positive thing about this phone call. I had wanted to ask about their services and I had questions as to why they were unable to service my needs. Michelle in particular is the absolute most unprofessional woman I’ve experienced on the phone in my life. I have no words to describe the type of unprofessional, blatant disregard, and ignorance displayed over a brief phone call. She was not only immensely rude but also childishly immature. I am shocked that ANY work place would allow this type of behavior. When I had told her that she was speaking unprofessionally to me she stated, “I know” in a condescending manner. Coming from over 15 years in customer service and management in many different fields, I know that if my behavior were to ever be as such that I would lose my job immediately. Julie, the manager I had requested to speak to regarding Michelle, was not as unpleasant but it was very clear that she had no real concern about Michelle’s behavior. I’m not surprised that this establishment has the low score reviews that it has - you couldn’t pay me to step foot into that office if that is how a GOVERNMENT RUN OFFICE is being handled and managed. I am beyond disgusted with my experience today and will be seeking to file a formal complaint with witnesses of the events during this short phone call that has transpired.
