This place is awful. My property taxes were over $550 dollars and the ladies couldn’t tell me why it was so much. I never had to pay this much in taxes and my vehicles are not brand new or even close to being new. They told me that’s what they book for on Kelly Blue Book. The ladies over there was rude and on top of that the lady never gave me my insurance card back as well and I called to let them know and the tax deputy lady got snobby with me. Nicholas county is definitely in need of some new tax deputy ladies and lower personal property taxes. Wish I could give this place a 0 star review

I had a court hearing in June for a property sell of a protected person. The day I arrived (I live an hour away) a lady came out and said, your hearing is rescheduled. Someone had forgot to notify the court appointed attorney (which was their responsibility). When I returned in July, everything went well except it’s September and the court appointed attorney has done nothing he was supposed to do per the judge to complete my case. I’ve made multiple attempts to call him, asking him to finish this up for me. Nothing. I’ve even called the courthouse and they have no record because Mr.Selbe (appointed attorney) hasn’t completed the proper documentation showing we even appeared in court. This is very unprofessional and unusual for a court system. Other than calling the judge directly, I’m not certain of my next steps….

We were recently on vacation in the area and my wife wanted to do some genealogy research here via a variety record types. The staff was very helpful and friendly, and she found a lot of what she needed in the time we had. Definitely could do more research there, so may do that on a future trip.
