Many innocent people are paired with a single incompetent and overburdened public defender that refuses to act on your behalf, and literally tells you that you will be pleading guilty. No attempt to represent actual justice is made. No options presented. At one point I was told that he only had “about 20 minutes available for this” referring to discussing the facts of my case. This person is not acting in the best interest of anyone but the court, and your “defense” IS the prosecuting team operating as directed by the judge. Overwhelming feeling of small town “buddy buddy” politics not adhering to real legal due process.
