Friendly people directed me to the Health Dept where I was immediately served by more friendly people. Received my documents quickly for a nominal fee and was on my way in less than 10 minutes. Nice building in Valpos downtown. Street parking can be a little difficult during peak times but not compared to many other such establishments.

My husband and I visited (9/23) to get his birth certificate… the initial woman who helped us was very rude and snotty. When my husband said what he was there for, this woman said “uh..okay?” As if us needing help was a problem. Luckily there was a second woman who was very helpful and offered advice. Won’t be coming back here unless absolutely necessary,
