Very friendly compared to Fredericksburg health department on Jackson Street. Spotsylvannia health department staff definitely try to help in the most positive way and you don't deal with any nasty attitudes. I would revrecomm if you can make the drive there.

I got there as soon as it opened at 8:00. Sat in the first waiting room for about 10 minutes, then went back to the second waiting room for 5 minutes. I went for a tb test. It wasn’t crowded at all. The tb assement is $3.22 and it’s just you answering questions. If you aren’t at risk based off of those questions, then you are good to go and only pay $3.22. If you are at risk for tb, then you will take the skin test, which is $10.22 and you would have to come back a couple days to get the test read. There’s no extra fee for having the test read (I asked just in case I was at risk). But I wasn’t at risk, so that’s great and they gave me 2 copies of my results. Overall, the experience was super quick, easy, and let’s not forget cheap! Most places don’t even give you the option to do the tb test assessment, the only option is the skin test and they charge $25-40 plus additional cost for you to return to have the test read. I wish I knew about this place doing tb test sooner, would have saved some money.

Today I had an excellent experience at the Spotsylvania Department of Health thanks to Kathryn G. at the front desk. She answered my phone call before I even arrived and was ready to assist me right away when I walked in. Despite a busy waiting area with lots of noise and kids, Kathryn kept a positive attitude and handled everything with professionalism and kindness. She immediately recognized me, helped me get what I needed, and had me in and out quickly. It’s rare to see that level of attentiveness and efficiency, and she truly made the process stress-free. Kathryn absolutely deserves to be recognized for her outstanding service.
