Wow.. Fast! I got birth certificates in less than 60 seconds. Everyone was super helpful guiding me the right room. And then lady there took care of everything at world record speed. A new high bar for interacting with city officials.

We came here to get our marriage license. We were so thrilled that they were open on a Saturday because we both work M-F. I was expecting a busy government office with employees who didn’t want to be there and boy was I wrong! Kim helped us with the marriage certificate and she was unbelievably kind, warm, welcoming, patient, and thorough. She really made us feel special! The process was smooth, quick, and painless. Kim is amazing at her job and is so genuine!

This was my first visit to St. Louis City Hall even though I'm a lifelong St. Louis County resident. I called in advance to get some information about where to go and how to obtain the paperwork I needed. The very next morning Patrick returned my call. He was most pleasant and helpful on the phone. He gave me the confidence I was on the right track. When I arrived at the Recorder Of Deeds office they had several workers at the stations helping the customers. Room 128 was well organized with excellent lighting and seating. The staff is very attentive and proactive in helping you understand what to do to get your business done. When you walk in Room 128 take a number off the table by the front door so you can get in the queue. You can also call in advance to verify if they have what you need before you make the trip downtown. And you may be able to complete your activities on their website. See the photos attached that I uploaded. They contain the various department phone numbers and website addresses. Chelsea Brown in the Recorder of Deeds Office did an awesome job taking care of all my concerns. She was knowledgeable. Professional. Efficient. And most polite. And she interacted very friendly with me and the others in line in front and behind me. She represents all that it is good in St. Louis City Government! The signage made it easy to find Room 128. And the security guard at the front doors helped with directions as well. There is a spacious parking lot off of Clark Street at the intersection of 12th called Tucker. It's easier and safer to park in the parking lot behind the City Hall building than to park at the meters on the street. The charge is $2 per hour at the meters as well as at the City Hall parking lot. The staff makes it effortless and enjoyable to do our business at City Hall!
