When you call don't expect to talk to a person. You are directed to voice-mail and it takes a couple days for someone to get back to you. This includes appointments for COVID - 19 testing. If you miss the call your stuck playing phone tag. Its much easier to go to Dorchester County where no appointment is needed. Its so easy and the staff is friendly. I tried to get help with quitting smoking awhile back and it was the same thing. Swnt to voice-mail and the person who called me came off as annoyed. The only thing I can say positive about this health dept is the process of getting a copy of your birth certificate. Quick and efficient. As for friendliness I got the impression that I was putting them out. I expect much better than this being that Talbot Co is one of the richest counties in MD. I will be going to Dorchester for any needs from now on.

One lady who works here told a citizen journalist that he had no authority to be there. The other lady told him to turn off the camera because she didn't want to be recorded. All those who work here need to be educated on the First Amendment and the right of people to record public officials performing their duty in a public lobby and other publicly accessible areas of the facility.

Very helpful staff. If you are confused about Medicaid or any social health benefits, just give them a call or show up. They actually want to help you! Needed dental care and will now save a lot of money thanks to their help.

This review is particularly for the Breastfeeding class, with Ms. Caroline as the instructor / lactation consultant. This was the first class of its kind held by the Talbot County Health Department, and it was a once a week for four consecutive weeks event. Each class was incredibly informative and open-hearted, in that everyone there always felt at ease with asking questions with no judgment or pressure. Caroline is incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastic about empowering her students with all the tools needed to navigate breastfeeding, bottle feeding, formula, as well as troubleshooting an array of potential stumbling blocks along the parenting journey. I highly recommend this class to any expecting mother. It is a wealth of information and resources for beginning your journey as a parent, in a relaxed and family-like environment. Please sign up for this class, you will learn so much more than if you just rely on the brief lactation information you are given after you give birth.

Multiple disciplines in multiple buildings. Lots of regular and handicapped parking. All buildings are wheelchair accessible and staffed by providers.
