I needed a drinking water sample tested so I had my wife pickup a sample bottle and attached instructions at this location. The next morning, per the instructions I received with my bottle, I conducted the collection and showed up promptly at 0800 ( the beginning of the turn-in window listed on the instructions). When I arrived, a note was tagged to the door indicating COVID hours were from 12:00 to 4:00. I rang the delivery button and a few moments later an employee came to the door. An older woman, her first words were “we’re not open.” I explained to her that the sheet her office had given me said they took samples from 8-1, which would leave a 1 hour window in the middle of my work day to submit. The exchange was brief, but she was rude and condescending the entire time. She literally just needed to grab a small bottle and a sheet of paper, but couldn’t muster enough human decency to do that politely. The parking lot is full of employee vehicles, so I’m not sure why they have such limited hours, and this particular employee made my experience singularly awful. Two stars because I think the water quality testing service is probably a good value and a positive for the community, but Thurston county needs to relook it’s customer service. I hope you read this, grumpy lady at the delivery door. Thanks for being terrible.

Wheelchair access inside the building is absolutely terrible. Entry has lovely automatic doors; but once your number is called, it is near-impossible to enter the next door, and the clerk will simply just sit there and watch you struggle, both entering and exiting.

After reading other reviews, I braced myself for a terrible experience. Not so!!! The people were nice and professional. I called ahead with a couple of questions. The person who answered the phone answered my questions clearly and professionally. When I arrived at the office, I filled out a brief form, took a number at the kiosk, and proceeded quickly to the counter. The person at the counter printed and certified my document and took my payment. The office was clean and organized. The people working there were courteous and professional. The overall experience was excellent.
