If I could give them 0 stars I would. For a government building the employees are unprofessional and I don’t understand how they are “overly booked” for marriage licenses. I had to go to another county and it literally only took 20 mins. They had no line or anyone waiting to be serviced “as if” they were booked and the best part is: you have to call to make an appointment YET they do not answer the phone. I’ve been calling for weeks and I called the day I needed to come get the license. This place is a mess.

0 wasn’t an option!! Very poor customer service!!! I called to request an appointment for a birth certificate for my son born in Forsyth County in 2005. She tells me they “don’t do that” although it says the do “do that” on the website. I tried to explain to her what was on the website and was cut off. She was very dismissive and unprofessional. There were other ways to address the issue without the “I don’t care what you say, you need me, I don’t need you” undertone. I really think she can use some training in customer service, but i guess as a government agency they don’t feel that have to be nice, but should at least strive to be tactful and professional. i have sent an email mail to the Register of Deeds.

The Wayne office is above and beyond the other surrounding counties. There are a whole team of individuals in the Register of Deeds office that are not just thorough, but customer experience centric. I think people sometimes lose focus on the concept of customer service in government offices because they are just that. I'm not sure about the culture of their office, whether it is a focus or not, but they are polite, courteous, and mission effective. Duplin, Sampson, Wilson, and Onslow need to step up and Wayne should be commended on their professionalism and politeness.
