Needed to get a copy of my marriage license from back in 1990. Lost all my important paperwork in a fire. Turns out my brain isn't as sharp as it was back then..lol. Just because I got married in greene county... doesn't mean I got my license there. You get it from the county you lived in at that time. Made another trip back to Miami County where I started to begin with. Thank goodness I was only married twice.

Completed in 1902, this is Greene County's third courthouse replacing structures bult in 1809 and 1843. The building was designed by Samuel Hannaford & Sons who are responsible for a number of area buildings including the Saint George Church in Cincinnati, the Custom House and Post Office in Cincinnati, and even Cincinnati's City Hall. Here, the primary feature is the 145 foot tall clock tower which sounds on the quarter hour. It is in a Romanesque style with Medieval European elements. The thick walls and rounded arches are particularly stunning Greene County is named for Revolutionary War hero Nathaniel Greene. The present boundaries were set in 1819. Xenia was established as the county seat in 1804. "Xenia" is from Greek and signifies hospitality. On a Saturday afternoon, the building was locked and secured. I stuck my nose against the glass but there's nothing to see.
