Emailed a complaint about Red Pepper Bar & Grill on Sunday, March 24th, because my take-out order had been maliciously contaminated. DEH employee Mindy indeed visited and inspected the facilities and the ingredients, so I give 2 stars for expediency. Other than being quick, though her investigation was utterly incompetent. The DEH is our singular avenue of redress for such complaints. Neither the Sheriff nor the police investigate these types of crimes (or potential crimes). Mindy did not conduct her investigation as if a potential crime had occurred. She didn't even ask who was working at the time, which is abjectly nonfeasant and misfeasant. Her subsequent posture, when I spoke with her afterward, was protectant of the Red Pepper employees rather than the consumer, which of course is the opposite of her job. So I will be filing a complaint with the director of the SC County DEH, and on up from there, after the Director does nothing about it. Certainly I'm not the only one sick of these useless dolts who "work" for the county. Crimes always invove people. You need to get those persons' names. Do your job. Your actions and words are contemptuous of the very process you are paid to do.
