Loved the service. Make sure you already book the appointment at project cupid. No walk-in without appointment. Also bring your id and no payment by cash. We did our marriage license and also certified copy of our marriage certificate. We can have our appointment for printing our marriage certificate min. 5 days after our wedding day, if we have the elopement/wedding not in the city clerk. Near chinatown and near busway station. Loved to see the newlyweds that have elopement in the city clerk. Can be busy as well.

Most of the staff were super nice and friendly. However, the female security staff member at the back door was extremely unpleasant and unprofessional. When we were about to leave and take a few photos at the back door, she yelled at us, saying “No pictures.” There was no sign posted indicating that photography was not allowed in that area. If there is a rule, it could have been explained politely. Instead, she chose to yell, which felt unnecessary and disrespectful. As we were exiting through the back door, our photographer stepped outside first to take a photo of us exiting. She yelled at us again, saying “That’s enough,” and even stood up from her chair in a way that felt intimidating, despite the fact that we were clearly leaving. I honestly don’t understand who gave her the authority to treat people this way. For most people, a wedding is a once-in-a-lifetime moment, and it’s incredibly disappointing to be treated so poorly on such an important day. This behavior really affected our experience. I also noticed that many other reviews mention similar issues with the same staff member at the door. Is no one addressing this behavior?

We eloped and got married at the city clerk's office. We're native to philly so we came to get our marriage license on a friday and it was PACKED. There was a huge line into the Chappell. We had our actual ceremony on Tuesday at 230 and there was no line at all. We weren't even there for 30 minutes. There is a system in place that keeps the process going. I definitely recommend going midweek vs Friday. It will save you so much stress and time. I think it's adorable that there's a gift shop, we got a xmas ornament that says "I got married in NYC" and we also were able to grab a folder for the certificate. If you take anything from this let it be to go mid week and grab the folder from the gift shop!

My husband and I, we are both from Romania. We planed a trip to New York and we decided to get married. We prepared a little bit before and I want to share how and what we did. First things we scheduled an appointment at NY City clerk for getting a marriage license ( 3 weeks in advance, the calendar is open every Monday for the next 3 weeks). We lended on Saturday and Monday morning we went to the City Clerk to get our marriage license. We had the appointment at 9, we entered the building, we had to show the passports, they had us on the list. We pre- completed the marriage license application online before. We received a number and we waited for approx 30 min. After that, we appeared to a city clerk official and he requested only our ids and asked where we will get married). We were prepared with the birth certificates translated and notarized but they never asked for them. So only the passport was enough. The next day, we did the ceremony in Central Park ( one friend requested the one day officiant license same day when we took the marriage license, so he was able to officiate the ceremony. Appointment is needed too. We scheduled the appointment one hour after your appointment because he needs our marriage license to fill his form). Same day in the afternoon, had an appointment to record room and our officiant friend was able to bring our signed marriage license and we were able to get the marriage certificate and the extended marriage certificate too (we used the same appointment). The next steps are required if you need an extended apostile marriage certificate to use it in your country: 1. We requested the extended marriage certificate on the city clerk same day when we got the marriage certificate 2. We went to Supreme Court to get another stamp ( it was sort of a certification the marriage certificate is valid) ( step 1 photo at hard) 3. We went to New York State Department to get the apostile ( step 2 photo attached) ( see photo attached To summarize, we needed only the passports, the appointments and 3 days to have everything ( 1st day get the license, second day the ceremony and get the certificate, 3rd day get the apostile)

This should be one of the happiest and most memorable days in people’s lives, but the experience at the Manhattan City Clerk’s office felt cold and unpleasant. The security staff by the door were absolutely rude, and the employees inside seemed very serious and unwelcoming. I understand it is a government office, but people are coming here to celebrate something very special, and they deserve to be treated with basic warmth and respect. Very disappointing experience.
