Necessary for City and County Business, kind of smells like Pine-Sol and old people, not that there's anything wrong with that, but not a fan. Would benefit from giant murals detailing the history of Plattsmouth through bloody and explicit paintings that may or may not have actually happened. Just an idea. Not sure of actual rules, but kind of has the vibe that spontaneous dancing would be frowned upon. Should make residents upbeat and eager to visit, not sad they were required to enter for mundane requisites. A person inside a town mascot costume would help achieve this, IDK, Perry the Plattsmouth Puppy? Or disco music playing in the halls for when visitors have a long walk through the building, or are required to wait behind others at Treasurers/Clerks offices. Literally any variance from the decades long unchanged atmosphere. Or not. What do i know about operation of government buildings? No experience, and my opinion was never solicited 🤷 I am available for hire though as a Private Consultant in these matters, if P-Town wants to change the way it's bureaucracy gets down. 💯 Holla

OCT 2016--Try to renew your vehicle registration online. I say this because you never know who will help you. Last year, being new to the Nebraska, I had a lady who was charming, patient and answered all of my questions. Today I didn't get so lucky. I had someone who was unsympathetic to military families and cut me off mid-sentence to hand me my stickers with a curt, monotone "Thank you" as if pained to even say that much. It doesn't matter how busy the office is, it's no excuse for throwing your manners or a pleasant disposition out the window. I still wished her a nice day even though it was not reciprocated. Edit, a year later, 2017: Things have much improved that I simply must up my rating! Polite, patience and ever helpful! Thank you immensely for your help with the military family!

You need to visit Cass Count Courthouse, it is over 100 years old and has been updated but it really takes you back to another time before you were born, classy and full of charm. The people working there are great, and have an old town work ethic. They took care of business and had me on my way in no time. Great people and just an amazing building.

Nice old school building. Love the architecture. They don't build them like this anymore. They have a mini museum of sorts. Historical pictures of Old Plattsmouth, one of the earliest settlements in the State of Nebraska.
