**Read pertaining to birth certificates,( appointment only, go inside and schedule an appointment or call** Poor Communication. Covid has been happening for 2 years. Why hasn't the city communicated to the hospitals about birth certificates only being acquired by appointment. Oh yeah....they are a week behind. Really.... send the email to the only 2 hospitals we have in Amarillo, attention birth certificate administrator.

I've never had to make an appointment before and I was told today that I had to have an appointment. I couldn't come back for an appointment because I needed it today and so I HAD to drive to Canyon to get one. Took me longer to drive to Canyon than it did to get a birth certificate.

Tried to get my dad's death certificate i brought in my valid washington state driver's license and was told that if it states federal limits apply it is not a valid form of ID in the state of Texas. Federal limits apply only applies too getting on an airplane, going onto a military base, or going into a federal building. According to the deputy who upholds the laws in the state of Texas federal limits apply means that you cannot get a death certificate unless you have another form of ID with all three of your names on it. I had my costco card with my picture on it that matches my driver's license, but because it did not have my middle name even though pictures matched they would not accept it. The website does not say anything about that at all. Very frustrating when all your trying to do is get a death certificate that is not a federal form.

Went in to replace my kids birth certificates and First Lady I talked to was super nice but the lady I talked to at the second window was horrid so rude and degrading for whatever reason she felt the need to be I was absolutely floored at her behavior working in the setting she does! God forbid someone who has just lost everything and needs to get replacements has to deal with her! I was absolutely floored! (Tatted up Hispanic lady)
